When tea began in Sakhejung, farmers almost experimented with the art of tea making in several methods than ran through their minds. Teas were sun dried hand rolled and again sun dried; this led to experimenting with a lot of volatile compounds that exist in Tea. Although unaware of the fact that they were actually making Oolongs of different degrees the farmers methodized the art of full oxidized Oolongs.
Many types are oolongs are produced in Sakhejung as it depends on the tea maker's expertise and the seasonal character of the tea fields and climate. The Oolongs of Sakhejung exceptionally exhibits the character of the climate and soil conditions; therefore it is quite difficult to mark the qualities. The Oolongs of Sakhejung varies according to the season and the year of production.
