Our TEALAYA Tea Garden is in Organic Tea village Sakhejung. Sakhejung is a small tea village in the eastern region of Nepal only few kilometers away from the famous Ilam town. Since, 25 years the people of Sakhejung, live and breathe tea. As a cash crop tea has shown a silver lining to elevate poverty and bring about overall development in Sakhejung.
The north easterly aspect of Sakhejung hills roll from 1200 meters to 2200 meters above sea level where a serene river namely PuaKhola flows and divides another village development committee namely Mai Pokhari. Five hundred small and large plantations of tea scatter all along 2500 hectares of Sakhejung while subsistence farming is carried out in the rest of the farms.
Sakhejung is the real Organic Tea production Area and symbol of "We Organic". These tea farms are certified organic by NAASA, Australia and organized through an Internal Control Mechanism amongst the farmers which in totality is controlled by NASAA and tea producing factories of Sakhejung. The farmers' of Sakhejung is proud to go organic because it symbolizes unity in harmony with nature and the true art of living.
